Once they give you a price compare that with your original quote. Then go to a third TA and ask them if they can beat your cheapest price. Our experience is almost always you will find a Travel Agent that will.

Not a custard tart, although if you go to Lisbon they are a must. No, a Travel Agent tart. Don't stick to your favourite, or the one you used last. Not even Beryl's Aunties sisters go to. Shop around and shop around some more. Travel Agents prices are relatively fixed by the cruise companies but they do have some local promotions and options to reduce the commission, giving you a better deal.

Yes, well no, or maybe! Should I book with a cruise company or a Travel Agent. Travel Agents can often be cheaper. However booking direct allows you to make changes much easier. It is simpler to contact P&O for example to make any amendment directly. If you booked through a Travel Agent cruise lines direct you to request any changes through them. This still works but takes longer for a response.

Prices change almost daily, up and down. If you find a cruise and price you're happy with and it's a must do then probably you should go ahead and book it. If you are flexible and don't mind a bit of risk we find the best deals are around 2 to 3 months from the sail date. Consistently prices are higher when the cruise is first advertised. Ultimately it comes down to supply and demand, cruises with lots of cabins left will be discounted closer to the sail date. If it's selling out prices will go back up.
