With 7 ships in their fleet P&O might sound small but they form part of the Carnival Corporation which is the worlds largest leisure industry. Carnival has over 90 ships across nine cruise brands including Cunard, Princess and Costa Cruise Line.
Originally the Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Company P&O Cruises have come a long way since 1837.
Sister ships Arvia and Iona are the latest edition to P&O's British themed fleet with Aurora and Arcadia being exclusively adults only.
Whilst the family friendly ships offer kids clubs, splash pools and a Mission Control escape style room P&O aim their marketing at the British middle aged couple. OK so before we get shot down in flames we've had many great family cruises with P&O. However as a general rule we would opt for Royal Caribbean when cruising with younger people in particular teenagers and young adults. We see P&O as a typically British style of service for the relaxed couple looking for a romantic getaway with a splash of entertainment and refined dining. Great for the young to 'middle aged' group of friends looking for amazing British style service and restaurants.
During our recent check in with P&O the lady asked, 'Are you Baltic?' Well, I am a bit chilly I replied.
I'm here all week!
